Point Beach Police make arrest for television theft

On April 14, at approximately 3:30 p.m., detectives from Point Pleasant Beach Police Department arrested a subject at his residence in Beachwood, without incident, in connection with the theft of eight televisions from 709 Arnold Avenue.

Robert J. Berlinski, 25, was identified as one of the two subjects captured on the surveillance cameras last weekend. Mr. Berlinski is the registered owner of the white Toyota Tacoma.

“Subsequent to his arrest, a search warrant was executed. At this time, no additional information will be released as to any evidence recovered or specifics of how Mr. Berlinski was identified,” Detective Pat Petruziello said. ” The investigation remains open and active.”

Mr. Berlinski was charged by Detective Clint Daniel, with one count each burglary and theft, which are both third degree crimes. Bail was set by Judge James Liguori, at $10,000 with no ten percent option. Mr. Berlinski was remanded to the Ocean County Jail.
